We’ve had much of the same over the last year – too much of the same if you ask me.
Now the seasons are changing, the blankets are being hauled out of the closet, and it’s possible to enjoy the indoors a little more, even if that just means chilling on your couch with a drink in hand, and preferably one that puts a little fire in your belly.
Pirates and sailors would often drink rum at sea to warm themselves up, with the added bonus that it’s rather enjoyable.
Of course, they didn’t just drink rum straight. To make it more palatable, they would mix it with a bit of water to make a hot drink called grog.
Grog doesn’t sound very appetising, and we have more options now, so instead of firing up the kettle to ruin your rum, here’s a recipe from Fitch & Leedes for something tastier.
The Ginger T’ale
Ingredients:
Mixing It Up
Add ice to a glass with a squeeze of fresh orange juice, and top it up with Fitch & Leedes Ginger Ale. Add the strawberries and cucumber as garnish.
Super simple, but we’re not quite there when it comes to a winter warmer.
If you really want to sip on the perfect cold-weather drink you only need two ingredients.
A shot or two of Pathfinder Rum, and Fitch & Leedes Spicy Ginger Beer for some extra heat.
If that sounds ideal, then you’re going to love the fact that Fitch & Leedes has joined forces with some local brands to bring you the chance to win the ultimate cocktail kit.
The prize includes:
Here’s how to get in on the action:
The competition closes on March 26, 2021.
While you wait, you can order from the incredible range of Fitch & Leedes super mixers online . They’re also available on Takealot.
If you’re more of a gin drinker, their Indian Tonic is a classic companion to your favourite gin, whilst the Pink Tonic takes it to a new level for the more adventurous out there.
Not a drinker at all? The Moments range of vintage mocktails contain all the fun of a cocktail with none of the booze.
I’ll leave you to get entering.
