People tend to be fascinated by the Royal Family for reasons that we will never truly understand.

This might account for why so many of them try to breach the gates of various royal abodes, without the intent to actually commit any sort of reasonable crime.

I mean, if you’re going in for the jewels, then by all means live your best criminal life. But risking life and limb to wander around the grounds? Why?

    Let’s find out.

This past Sunday, a 31-year old man and his 29-year-old girlfriend, were detained after they managed to scale the fences at the Queen’s Windsor estate.

Metro reported that Prince Andrew officially lives at the lodge and was said to be there at the time of the breach.

Here’s more from the police statement:

‘Thames Valley Police was called to reports of two trespassers in the grounds of the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park on Sunday afternoon.

‘Two people, a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of being found in or upon enclosed premises and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue. ‘There was no risk to any individual on the site.’

The man and woman were arrested immediately and taken to Maidenhead police station, but have since been released on bail.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a reason for their actions, so that mystery remains unsolved.

A source also said: “This is an astonishing lapse.  Everyone was on high alert after the first intruder, now this happens. Heads could roll.”

    Wrong Queen Elizabeth…

So, about that first intruder that they casually mentioned there. On April 19 a 44-year old woman tried and succeeded in getting inside, claiming that she was engaged to Prince Andrew.

She came over in a taxi, which she made the guards pay for, entered under the pretence that she was a royal fiance named Irene Windsor, strolled the grounds for 20 minutes, only to be found out by a member of staff because she asked where Prince Andrew was.

She was taken into custody and her mental health is being screened.

While we’re on the topic, do you remember that guy who broke into the Queen’s bedroom?

    Yeah, that happened.
