Recently released dashcam footage, showing a driver of a cash-in-transit vehicle skilfully evading robbers in Pretoria, has gone viral, attracting the attention of local and international news sites alike.
When the footage was first released, the name of the driver was unknown, but he has since been identified as Leo Prinsloo. He spoke to eNCA about the experience. You can watch that video here.
Via News24, he said that he “pre-visualised” what he was going to do and then executed his vision.
“You know instinct kicks in pretty much…When we train people, we usually tell them to pre-visualise what you are going to do…That’s pretty much what happened – I pre-visualised what I was going to do, to the best of my ability,” said Prinsloo.
He remained calm and collected throughout the experience as did the security officer in the front of the vehicle with him.
The attackers were unsuccessful in their attempt to rob the van.
If you own a licensed weapon and want to learn from the best, Prinsloo is presenting a basic handgun training course in September this year, which you can sign up for now.
You’ll find the details on The Edge Shooting Academy’s Facebook page, and below.
Gun safety is important, so if you’re looking to sharpen your skills Prinsloo is your man.
Thanks, James.
