The Me You Can’t See, the Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry documentary series about mental health, couldn’t have come at a more pertinent time.

As Prince Harry said in the two-minute trailer that has just been released, “the results of this year will be felt for decades.”

Oprah Winfrey adds to this in her tweet about the trailer, saying that “in the US alone, 1 in 5 people suffer from some form of mental illness.”

Harry and Winfrey are the co-creators and executive producers of the Apple TV+ series that will start airing on Friday, featuring a few other well-known celebs who are also campaigning for the cause of mental health, as per The Guardian.

We can expect in-depth interviews with Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Glenn Close, and San Antonio Spurs basketball player DeMar DeRozan.

    Check out the trailer:

The Archewell website says that Oprah and Harry will guide “honest discussions about mental health and emotional wellbeing while opening up about their personal journeys and struggles”.

In a conversation with Oprah, Harry adds:

“To make that decision to receive help is not a sign of weakness. In today’s world, more than ever, it is a sign of strength.”

It definitely took strength for Prince Harry and Meghan Duchess of Sussex to break ties with the Royal Family and move to America.

They revealed a lot about the Royals’ shortcomings in their interview with Oprah in March, but this documentary series will touch on a great deal more.

Some of the trailer footage hints that Harry will revisit the trauma he experienced after his mother, Princess Diana’s, death:

Harry has previously spoken of the emotional turmoil he faced after his mother was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997, saying he spent nearly two decades “not thinking” about her death before eventually getting help after a period of “total chaos”.

It seems the move across the ocean will aid him in “break[ing] the cycle” of “genetic pain and suffering” for the sake of his own children – which are phrases he used when speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast.

The Me You Can’t See is certainly a must-see.
