Dubai is making a splash with yet another Guinness World Record.
It’s all in (or viewed from) the Jumeirah Gate, which houses Address Beach Resort, along with the Address Beach Residences, in a set of 77-storey twin towers connected at their base, and again by a sky bridge from the 63rd level to the 77th.
This building holds the record for the highest occupiable skybridge floor (because people live up there), at 294,36 metres (casual).
The recent opening of the Address Beach Resort’s pool gives this building its second world record, being the highest infinity pool inside a building, at a vertiginous 293,9 metres high.
As CNN points out, that’s about nine-tenths as tall as the Eiffel Tower:
This ain’t no paddling pool either — at 94,84 metres in length and 16,5 metres in width, it’s nearly twice as long as an Olympic-sized pool.
The pool offers swimmers (who have to be 21 or older) panoramic views of the city’s iconic Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and the World Islands, as well as the brand new Ain Dubai ferris wheel, which also has a world record for being the tallest:
The deputy CEO of Al Ain Holding, Federico Rota, said this about the wins:
“Staying true to our testament to developing landmark projects, we are proud to be breaking two Guinness World Record titles with the Address Beach Resort. With state-of-the-art construction and groundbreaking amenities, this development has set new standards in luxury lifestyle and hospitality.”
Here’s a video from a lucky guest celebrating his mom’s birthday:
