The helpless driver of what appears to be a white sedan had one hell of a ride on the N12 highway in Johannesburg.

There’s a frightening video doing the rounds on social media that shows a heavy truck pushing the sedan on its side for quite a distance.

While there’s very little information about how, when, and why the accident happened, it took place just before the N1 turnoff towards Roodepoort and N3 turnoff towards Germiston.

SA Trucker uploaded the video, which is from the vantage point of another vehicle, perhaps a bus, driving towards the truck.

The person filming then notices the sedan wedged into the front, unable to escape as it slides down the road.

The Citizen reports the driver of the truck “seems unaware that he is pushing a car along the highway”.

Being out of control because of the rainy weather that made the roads harder to navigate seems like a plausible explanation.

In the comments under the tweet, others speculate that the sedan was trying to hijack the truck:
