In recent years, studies into the healing effects of hallucinogens, and particularly psilocybin (from ‘magic mushrooms’), have ramped up.

Sadly, while the international scientific community has been studying the positive effects that psychedelics can have on people suffering from depression, anxiety, and addiction for years, psilocybin remains banned in South Africa.

Those who are familiar with Steve-O, one of the original members of the Jackass crew, can probably surmise that his exploits with drugs were more for the thrill than the healing effects.

Recently, the now sober Steve-O detailed the story of his first-ever LSD trip on Comedy Central’s Tales from the Trip, as well as some of his wilder ketamine and cocaine experiences.
