  • “A Paradise Full Of Exquisite Scenery” – Forbes Is Gushing About Cape Town Again

Forbes is unrestrained with its admiration for our neck of the woods, calling the southernmost tip of Africa “one of the most magnificent parts of the world”.

Cape Town is a favourite, lauded as a “magical city” with “flat-topped Table Mountain” and “a paradise full of exquisite scenery, beautiful beaches, [and] two oceans” leading the attractions.

For those of us who live here, we see the real stuff every day, but still, we certainly do not disagree.

The article is headlined “Why Cape Town Is A Must-Visit Destination” and is one of many from the publication that dotes on our existence, including this take on a local restaurant.

It talks about finding our “fabulous beach towns” – Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach – before delving into the other places worth a stopover, including the Cape Winelands and the West Coast “with its charming little villages, each with its own distinct personality”.

It lists all the bucket-list-worthy things that the city has to offer – you know the drill – and then gives a few stunning options for places to stay.

The Mount Nelson is praised as the “grandest of the grande dame hotels” with the funkiest bar, two heated pools, and exquisite fountains.

Suggested second is The 12 Apostles, offering what it argues might just be the best views in the city, followed by Sea Point’s newly renovated The Winchester, the artsy The Silo, and lastly the Cederberg’s Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat:

The activities listed were almost exclusive to the V&A Waterfront, with a somewhat dubious mention of riding the Cape Wheel.

Pity there was no mention of our deep historical and cultural tapestry, or trying out some traditional cuisine like bunny chow, among the other things that make our country that much richer.

Anyway, have a lovely day in Cape Town, you lucky buggers.
