One day, Queen Elizabeth’s reign will eventually come to an end and Prince Charles will take over.
He probably envisioned landing the crown far earlier than will be the case. At least he had a good time during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations recently, which is more than can be said for young Prince Louis.
Next in line after Charles is Prince William, and his rise to the top could spell bad news for Prince Andrew. Mother Dearest is hard at work trying to salvage her son’s reputation (too late, Queenie) but that ship has sailed.
A case in point is the song ‘Prince Andrew Is A Sweaty Nonce’ by The Kunts, a comedy rock group, rocketing up the charts.
According to The Daily Mail, Prince William has no love for his uncle:
…he believes that a slimmed-down Royal Family is the best way to ensure its survival — and that his shamed uncle, Prince Andrew, should never have a part to play in it again…
‘He has strong views on the Duke of York and believes his insistence in trying to cling on to a public role is highly dangerous for the institution. He would have cut him loose a long time ago if it had been up to him. He understands that when it comes to mother and son the situation is complicated, but honestly I think he just wishes he would vanish from public view,’ says a friend.
It’s reported that the Queen is now open to taking advice from William and he is being given a say in helping make big decisions.
These reports, combined with the heatwave across the UK (Suffolk recorded a temperature in excess of 32 degrees Celsius over the weekend), should have that song title ringing true.
Andrew was apparently enraged with Charles and William for preventing his return to public life at the Order of the Garter ceremony earlier this month.
He was also prevented from attending the festivities at Ascot this weekend. Again, via The Daily Mail:
Buckingham Palace said that the Duke of York’s absence from the Windsor Castle procession and Order of the Garter service was a ‘family decision’, but it is believed it came about after the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge lobbied the Queen about his participation…
“Andrew is desperate to rebuild his life and wants his titles back,” a source [said]. “But he is fuming with Charles and William for stopping his plans.”
Please bring me the world’s smallest violin at once.
Imagine earning the nicknames ‘Randy Andy’ and ‘Air Miles Andy’, living it up at taxpayer expense for years, and then whining about this stuff after you settled a sexual abuse civil claim, which your mom had to pay for you?
Spare us, pal.
