America’s Fourth of July celebrations were once again absolutely bonkers this year, with folks taking their firework shenanigans to the next level.
Celebrating the historical day that the US was freed from British colonial rule, people come together for picnics, parades, and firework displays.
While each year there are accidents, injuries, and casualties caused by wayward fireworks and the like, this year seemed more intense than usual.
The anarchy was shared all over social media, with at least three people reportedly dying in fireworks accidents over the weekend, per The Indian Express.
In fact, a report by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission confirmed that there has been a 25% increase in firework-related injuries between 2006 and 2021 in the country.
First up, take a look at this lawn party that soon became a scene from a war movie, captured on the family’s home security camera:
Every year, since I was a young kid, on July Fourth weekend, without fail, there have been news stories warning folks about the dangers of fireworks and giving a 101 reminder on safety. And every year, without fail, this happens across the country. pic.twitter.com/yMN0oSiEKt

As Whiskey Riff notes, “it looks like somebody had just dropped a bomb on the group of people from way up above”.
Speaking of bombs, it looks like someone actually set one off:

Some absolute madman also decided it was a great opportunity to throw flames around with a full-blown weapon of destruction:

A mass shooting in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, where a gunman perched on a rooftop and opened fire on families celebrating the day, also claimed seven lives.
