Another day, another example of how the EFF offers voters nothing more than empty rhetoric and childish petulance.

Yesterday, President Cyril Ramaphosa appeared remotely in front of MPs in the National Assembly in a question-and-answer session.

As has become stock standard, EFF MPs continually interrupted proceedings and threatened violence, leading to speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula requesting that ‘honourable members’ be escorted from the building by parliamentary protection services.

Much like the City of Johannesburg Council meeting which devolved into violence earlier this month, there was pushing, shoving, and handbags but little substance:

The rest of the sitting watched on as the red overalls were ushered out:

During the session, Ramaphosa was grilled regarding the robbery at his Phala Phala game farm. Below via TimesLIVE:

Ramaphosa repeatedly told the National Assembly on Tuesday that he was ready to answer all questions and give an explanation to parliament, but that he was advised against doing so.

“I know that there is a great deal of interest in my answer to this question,” he said. “And I’d like to say that without appearing like I do not want to answer questions, [or] that I do not want to be accountable; I should say that as I indicated before, even in written replies to members of this house, in the debate on the presidency budget vote and in statements on various public platforms, I stand ready to give an explanation and to co-operate with any investigation on this matter,” he said.

This is from the guy who delivered so-called ‘family meetings’ on the regular without fielding a single question from the media.

I wouldn’t hold my breath that the president is suddenly going to take a liking to answering tough questions.
