There must have been a point at which everyone involved wondered whether this high-speed car chase would ever end or not.
Marshall Security went on a highway hunt last Thursday for a couple of men making a run for it after being spotted allegedly attempting to break into a house in Durban.
Dashcam footage shows a blue Kia Soul dodging traffic on the busy N2 highway in Durban at speeds fit for a race track, while the security cars remained hot on their heels.
News24 reported that the private security company received a call about two men seen scaling the wall of a property in the Avoca area, before heading out and giving chase:
“The suspects were disturbed and then jumped back out of the property and into a getaway vehicle… only a couple of hours later, at approximately 12:30, the same vehicle was spotted on Tasneem Crescent by alert community members, who immediately informed our Emergency Dispatch Centre,” the company said in a statement.
Watch the scene unfold:
If you watched right through, you’ll have noticed that the chase did come to an end on the N2 freeway and Marshall Security did eventually apprehend the suspects.
These men had apparently been previously arrested for an attempted house robbery.
A third suspect managed to escape into the nearby bush, though.
Multiple housebreaking tools were found in the car, “together with overall clothing, which the suspects could possibly use to change their clothing description after committing a crime,” said the security company.
Good thing someone was on the alert.
