Fans are spiralling after seeing a video of Katy Perry’s eye twitching freakily during her recent Las Vegas concert.
It looked like the singing star suffered some sort of eyelid malfunction while on stage, and the theories about why this might have happened are as bizarre as the occurrence.
The erratic fluttering of her eyelash, the temple tap, and the deadpan face all say doll, robot, and a possible glitch in the Matrix, according to the numerous conspiracies doing the rounds on social media.

As the clip went viral, HuffPost reported that the “Katy Cats” pounced on the speculations about what could have possibly caused the musician’s eye to appear to close involuntarily:
“She’s glitching,” one person commented on TikTok.
“She lost the WiFi connection,” another joked.
“That baby doll you had as a kid with the eye that kept closing,” said another.
One TikTok user reckons she’s a “Hollywood clone” and points out another concert in which Katy says, “Master, I’m not feeling so well” before falling to the ground and being carried off by a bouncer:
