It was a pitch invader free-for-all in New Zealand on Saturday when the Warriors and the Broncos met for a National Rugby League match.
In the last few minutes of the game, a number of people decided to test the security’s defensive backline, and almost like a playground game, the invaders made their beeline for the pitch.
The BBC video shows security scrambling to keep up as one after the other darted for the barriers behind the post, with a few managing some decent rugby moves as they sidestepped and dived their way onto the field. All the while, the commentator over the loudspeaker can be heard asking everyone to ‘stay off the pitch’.
The whole scene feels coordinated somehow and even has a good demographic of male-to-female invaders. Good on you Kiwis.
