New data has just dropped, revealing the world’s latest top-selling smartphone — and, unsurprisingly, it’s exactly what you expected.
According to the latest data from Counterpoint Research, the crown has been claimed by none other than — drumroll, please — the iPhone 15.
Apple’s second-newest powerhouse dominated the scene, capturing a remarkable 3.5% of the global market share in the third quarter of 2024. In second and third place, respectively, are the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro.
We all saw this coming as Apple has pretty much led the pack since the dawn of screen time.
Last year, the iPhone 14 was in first place, with the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro in second and third place, according to Counterpoint’s data.
Here’s the kicker: iOS, the operating system that powers the iPhone, only grabs about 19% of the global market share, according to Counterpoint’s earlier data. Meanwhile, a whopping 77% of smartphone users are rocking Android. But here’s the twist — even with all those Androids out there, none of them can out-sell the iPhone individually. Talk about a flex.
Here is the list of the top 10 smartphones, per Mashable.
There may be more Android phones than iPhones on the list total, but Apple landed in the most important spots in the rankings. To flex accordingly, you know where to go.
Digicape, South Africa’s largest independent Apple retailer, offers a trade-in option so you can swap your oldie for the iPhone 15 / Pro Max and be a part of the cutting edge without forking out full price. Black Friday deals are also loading, so keep an eye out!
