Along with G&Ts in the desert, whale spotting in Hermanus, or engagement flights over beaches, Air du Cap’s bespoke experiences now also offer a comfortable, scenic journey that covers the highlights of the Cape Peninsula in an accessible and affordable manner.
Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Peninsula Aerial Scenic Tour is an unforgettable Cape Peninsula experience that is a must-do when visiting Cape Town.
The Peninsula du Cap Experience:
Starting at Air du Cap’s home base at Cape Winelands Airport, your adventure begins as you head southward over the historic town of Stellenbosch, making your way towards the beautiful Strand and Somerset West.
The journey continues with a westward crossing over False Bay. This portion of the flight is particularly special as you cruise at a low altitude of just 500 feet, skimming above the beach and breakers of False Bay. After this thrilling stretch, you climb over the Muizenberg area, with the lush Constantia region visible from the right of the aircraft.
As you head south, be on the lookout for local wildlife, including seals, sharks, and even penguins! You’ll fly over the colorful beach huts of St. James Beach, the vibrant village of Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, and the historic Simonstown Naval Base.
Prepare your cameras for the highlight of the flight—an orbit above the stunning Cape Point. This dramatic view marks the climax of the tour, offering unparalleled aerial perspectives of this iconic landmark.
As you continue your journey, sit back and relax with some snacks and drinks while enjoying a scenic coastal cruise over Scarborough, Misty Cliffs, and Kommetjie.
Next, you make your way along the Atlantic Seaboard, where you’ll get a chance to fly over the bustling Camps Bay. You can also choose between two flight paths: either flying between the gap of Lion’s Head and the Table Mountain cable car, or heading north of Lion’s Head, passing over Sea Point, Green Point, and the iconic Cape Town Stadium.
As you approach the heart of Cape Town, fly over the V&A Waterfront and Cape Town Harbour, with Robben Island visible to your left. The journey continues over Bloubergstrand, Table View, and Big Bay, before returning home to Cape Winelands Airport.
