Cultured Conversations: Anthonij Rupert Wyne x DAWN invites you to an evening unlike no other: a meeting of minds, palates, and passions around one long, shared table.

This is more than dinner. It’s a dialogue between flavour and philosophy, tradition and innovation, chef and winemaker – and, of course, you.

Hosted at the acclaimed Dawn by Dusk restaurant in Stellies, tonight’s inaugural event welcomes Dawie Botha, Head Winemaker at Anthonij Rupert Wyne, whose wines echo the deep roots and dynamic energy of the Cape.

Nestled on the historic L’Ormarins estate, the Franschhoek winery is renowned for its expressive blends and elegant bottlings that capture both the soul of the terroir and the spirit of modern winemaking.

Alongside him, Chef Callan Austin presents a six-course tasting menu that pushes the boundaries of fine dining through the transformative lens of fermentation. Each dish is a conversation starter – layered, surprising, alive.

Pairings are led by Head Sommelier George Young, who has curated a journey through the estate’s finest offerings:

  • L’Ormarins Private Cuvée – Elegant, refined Cap Classique showcasing finesse and complexity.
  • Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc – Bright and vivid, with tropical fruit notes and a flinty minerality.
  • Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay – Lively, revealing layers of lime, nectarine, and subtle oak.
  • Anthonij Rupert Optima – A plush Bordeaux-style blend with rich dark fruit, warm spice, and hints of cedar.
  • Anthonij Rupert Cabernet Sauvignon – Deep and structured, offering black cherries, violet aromas and refined tannins.
