Musk Reportedly Shoved US Treasury Secretary ‘Like A Rugby Player’ During White House Brawl

While hurling insults at one another, Bessent called Musk "a fraud" for not uncovering the much-hyped $1 trillion wasteful expenditure with DOGE, which got Elon into Springbok mode.

Musk channelled some of his South African roots during a physical altercation with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, when he allegedly “shoved him like a rugby player”, prompting White House staff to intervene.

According to The Washington Post, following a meeting between the two and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office in mid-April, in which each official advocated for his preference for acting IRS commissioner, an argument broke out between the two in the hallway.

While hurling insults at one another, Bessent called Musk “a fraud” for not uncovering the much-hyped $1 trillion wasteful expenditure with DOGE, which got Elon into Springbok mode.

According to their far-right ally Steve Bannon, Musk then thrust his shoulder into Bessent “like a rugby player.” Bessent struck Musk back in response, the report said, and multiple people had to break up the two men.

According to insiders in the White House Fight Club, Trump eventually learned of the barnie, to which he reportedly said: “This is too much.”

While Musk’s departure was initially cordial, the two were feuding within days of when Musk began criticising Trump’s major legislative proposal, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which aims to extend tax cuts, boost military and border security spending, and make cuts to social programs like Medicaid.

Musk called the bill a “disgusting abomination,” arguing it would balloon the national debt and harm the economy.

Speaking of abominations, Musk is said to have cut less than 1% of total spending with DOGE, which is a few dollars short of the $1 trillion promised.

Meanwhile, the girls are still fighting, with Trump stating that he sees no path for reconciliation with Musk. But people who have spoken to Musk said he had cooled down a bit, and they thought he would want to repair his relationship with Trump.

Reconciliation seems unlikely as Musk also declared it was time for a new political party in the United States “to represent the 80% in the middle!” Probably not a bad idea, but only if it can be bought (we mean led) by someone not in the top 1%.
