From slinging beef sandwiches in The Bear to belting out blue-collar ballads, Jeremy Allen White is stepping into some very iconic jeans.

The first official trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has dropped, and yes – the Boss has officially entered the chat.

Directed by Scott Cooper, the guy who wrangled an Oscar out of Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart, this biopic dives into Bruce Springsteen’s gritty, soul-searching 1982 album ‘Nebraska’, with the story based on Warren Zanes’ book. So, expect less Born in the USA and more brooding in a New Jersey kitchen.

The 20th Century Studios synopsis reads: Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works – a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

Deliver Me From Nowhere joins the ever-growing hall of fame of musical biopics, making awards season a little louder. Remember Bohemian Rhapsody? Rami Malek snatched an Oscar. Elvis? Austin Butler crooned his way to a BAFTA. And just last year, Timothée Chalamet threw his hat in the ring with a best actor nom for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

Backing this Springsteen saga is Disney’s 20th Century Studios, with a production dream team that includes Scott Stuber, the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson.

The big plus is that Bruce himself worked on the movie, along with his longtime manager Jon Landau, to keep things honest.

Set your calendars and dust off your denim, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theatres October 24.
