He wasn’t just there for her; he was ready to bankroll her iCloud bill.
Paul Davis, a 43-year-old Brit from Southampton, has admitted to falling head over heels — and straight into a scam — for what he thought was a love-struck Jennifer Aniston in crisis.
Spoiler: it wasn’t.
The out-of-work romantic told The Sun that he coughed up non-refundable Apple gift cards — yes, gift cards — after getting sweet nothings from the fake Friends star, including deepfake videos of her blowing kisses and holding up a sign saying, “I love you.”
“I’ve had fake videos from Jennifer Aniston saying she loves me and asking for [about $270],” he told the UK paper. “I believed it – and I paid.”
Not even Chandler Bing could joke his way out of that one.

The strange T-shirt is a dead giveaway, Paul? If not, then surely the text spelling errors would have done it for you?

Despite the laughable premise — that Hollywood royalty was begging for help with her Apple subscription — Davis said he was duped by what looked like a real driver’s licence and audio clips that sounded suspiciously like Brad Pitt’s ex.
“Are you there my love?” one message asked. “My subscription is about to expire.”
She needs you, Paul. For $270. That’s just under R5000, by the way.

The catfish carousel didn’t stop with faux Aniston either. Davis claims he was also targeted by scammers posing as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
“It’s been going on for five months,” he said. “I thought someone would get in trouble for this, but they seem to be having a laugh – and getting away with it.”
After five months of emotional rollercoasters and prepaid code redemption, he finally reached his sitcom season finale.
“I got bitten,” Davis said. “Once bitten, twice shy.”
Let’s hope the next celeb in his inbox isn’t asking for Steam vouchers.
