We pulled out some vinyl in the 2oceansvibe Radio studio the other day and found ourselves playing We Will Rock You by Queen. My Friday co-host, Bruce, reminded me of the old classic Sun City TV commercial, which used the same song. My Twitter friends helped find the video. Check it out – epic!
The face of news is changing on a daily basis. It really has to. For as long as people have communicated, the basic premise of news has been one person asking another, “Tell me something new and interesting.” One person’s “new and interesting” may not be another’s news. News24 is very aware of this fact.
No, I am not pushing it with that headline. This is for real. Chamona! Game Software developers, Ubi Soft, have introduced a novel (and thoroughly heart-warming) anti-piracy measure into the Nintendo DS version of Michael Jackson: The Experience – vuvuzelas. That’s right. Copy this game at your own aural risk.
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – 29 November 2010: Former Big Brother celebrity Bradford Wood at the Benoni Magistrate court in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was granted bail for his alleged role in the death of several illegal miners on 29 November 2010. Wood and four others face murder charges after four illegal miners were shot […]
Today’s 2oceansvibe Radio line up is pretty spicy.
We have the Dirty Skirts in at 09h30, chased by the editor of Playboy South Africa, washed down with a little Sex In The Mother City with Doctor D. It’s basically all about prescribed psychotherapeutic drugs, sex, and rock n’ roll on 2oceansvibe Radio this morning.
The Cosmopolitan Summer Fashion show and after-party is one of the most anticipated and sexiest events of the year. It has to be said that with the myriad of invites sent to 2oceansvibe, this is one we would never (and have never) turn down! And now you can become a part of it too! Follow […]
Springbok coach Peter de Villiers generously made special provision for an interview with 2oceansvibe Radio’s Seth Rotherham and Bruce Good ahead of the test between South Africa and Sotland at Murrayfield on November the 20th. You can listen to all of the high-pitched enthusiasm here, right now.
Jeez, don’t hate us ‘cos we interviewed one of the godfathers of rap on 2oceansvibe Radio. Regular listeners have become quite used to this vibe – Plush today, Spud yesterday (with Arno Carstens), Simon Le Bon the other day. It’s endless. But for now, check out this interview Chuck D did with our lunch hosts, Luca & Josie!
We’re certainly no stranger to the clustercuss that is Kanye West. We’ve recently discussed the banning of his questionable album cover and now we bring you the interview that caused his media trainer to quit after just three days on the job.
It didn’t take long for the inevitable parodies of our Mr South Africa hero, Adriaan Bergh, to start travelling the interwebs. While this latest Mr South Africa wannabe certainly has potential, he unfortunately lacks the fifth and most important characteristic that we look for in a Mr South Africa which is, of course, access to a golf cart.
Chris Nolan, auteur behind the no-longer-embarassing Batman franchise, has started gearing up for the third installment of the rebooted series – The Dark Knight Rises. Apparently Nolan wants two female leads this time, just to rub it in Katie Holmes’ face. Potential candidates and gallery after the jump.
Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear team give us an exclusive look into what really goes into the making of The Stig. Come and take a tour around the Stig farm and get to see what really goes on behind the scenes as they reveal The New Stig.
Rockstar Games have released a debut trailer for their latest open-worlder: L.A. Noire. The game is set to be released in American Spring 2011 and will offer a different experience for those who enjoy blundering about a virtual map shouting obscentities, while waxing lyrical with a friend about bashing an elderly bystander’s head in with the back of a stolen car.
Zombies are everywhere. They’re in your movies, in your video games, in your Jane Austen, in your head (in your head) – and then some brilliant young mind decided that we needed a zombie-based television series. Wonderful – way to keep those fresh ideas coming. Except The Walking Dead might be the franchise to put this whole ‘undead’ craze to rest for a while.
The BBC has a new show called The Trip, which features two of Britain’s greatest comedians, Gavin & Stacey’s Rob Brydon and Alan Partridge’s Steve Coogan. In this clip, the two try to outdo each other with their Michael Caine impressions and the result is further proof that no one does comedy quite like the Brits.
‘So, you’re in love with one of your friends, but she has a boyfriend and probably wouldn’t have sex with you anyway’ is pretty descriptive, as titles go. You probably don’t need much more to go by than that. It’s funny and you should watch it. The fireman here knows what I’m talking about.
While I was originally stoked to find out that Wonder Woman was making a return to the silver screen and then gutted to learn that the project had been downgraded to TV, my opinion of the project has once again been swung by reports that our Tanit Phoenix is in talks to get the leading role.
In the wake of the news that Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp has declared that “Myspace is a problem” and has given the beleaguered social networking site months to sort itself out, we take a look at the reasons why the original posterchild of Web 2.0 is dying.
What do you reckon is shown in this picture? If you said “household dust under high-powered electron microscope”, you would be correct. A book by Brandon Broll hits us with stunning electron microscope images of insects, human body parts and household items, making even things like the bacteria on your tongue look pretty amazing. More inside.
We chatted to SKY News’ Charlotte Hawkins last week and covered a range of important topics, including Eamonn Holmes wearing his trousers on his head, Mark Longhurst being in love with her and how she decides what to wear every morning. Not to be missed!
Wow, people are still not happy about that chick's post on Marie Claire's website about fat people 'grossing her out'. So how do the public plan on displaying their distaste? Do the exact thing that grosses her out right outside her offices.
Some might say he is a villain, to others he is a hero. Say what you want about Jordan Belfort – his story is phenomenal. Which is probably why ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ became a bestseller the moment it went to print. He was a multimillionaire at 26 and was in jail at 36. Fill in the gaps with yachts, jets, parties, drugs and high-class hookers. Catch him live on-air this morning! Follow link to tune in.
Axe Cop is different to every other comic, if for nothing else than it’s written by Malachai Nicolle, whose name probably means nothing to you because he is only five years old! With characters like Avocado Man and Dinosaur Soldier, it’s a shoe-in to become my new favourite thing.
Everyone’s favourtie SKY News anchor, Charlotte Hawkins, will be joining the 2oceansvibe Radio team LIVE on Thursday morning, towards the end of the breakfast show. You might recall we first made contact with Charlotte earlier on this year, via a tongue-in-cheek article about her newsroom crush..
How’s that heading? Well it is the heading that was given to an article written on Marie Claire’s website. And man oh man has it caused some fat people to get really really angry.
With the help of modern technology, I was able to jet into the future and conduct an interview with SA celebrities, Jeannie D and Loyiso! This interview should only be for publication in 2050, but I thought I would give you a taste anyway! And my goodness, have things changed around here! It seems Jeannie […]
The BBC has long been regarded as the calm and steady hand guiding the British public. Its objective, measured approach to the news has long been its appeal.
In an attempt to change the public’s perception of them, one of their senior reporters goes absolutely mental on a protesters sign.
We love mary jane. Spider-Man loves Mary Jane. We love Spider-Man. In particular, we love Emma Stone, the angel from Zombieland and Superbad, who’ll be playing Peter Parker’s love interest in the rebooted Spider-Man film.
There are some pictures of her. You might want to keep your web shooters handy.
Many of you will know Chris Achola from Caprice, but little did you know he has quietly been working on ‘POZnews,’ the country’s first health magazine focusing on infectious diseases. The magazine aims to educate and inform those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Marketers and advertisers are urged to book for the launch of this breakthrough publication. Taj hotel, Thursday 18h30. Follow link for contact details.
This is hysterical. The US ‘Parents Television Council” (God help us all) has slammed the latest US GQ Magazine for publishing pictures which “border on pedophilia.” And I assure you it’s not to do with the cover! The gaggle of bored ultra-conservatives were referring to a photo shoot the legendary magazine did with the cast of Glee, a high-school-musical type series that is probably also showing on local screens (I wouldn’t know – but can confirm it is on Apple TV). Follow the link for more on the story + all the pics..
