The BBC has long been regarded as the calm and steady hand guiding the British public. Its objective, measured approach to the news has long been its appeal.

However, in an industry increasingly governed by ratings and hyperbole, the BBC has taken note that the people at Fox News are getting all the chicks and is rebranding itself as the “bad boy” of intellectual journalism. Starting with John Sweeney’s spittle-riddled rage against Scientology’s diabolical genius, Tommy Davis.

The latest chapter in the BBC’s move to change the public’s perception of them was to get one of their senior reporters, Nick Robinson, to go absolutely mental on a protesters sign.

In related news, the troubled channel has reportedly been seen out partying with Paris Hilton in defiance of a recent court order to check into rehab. The BBC’s spokesman was unavailable for comment.
