It’s not often I get to say: “Look at this guy, he built a real death ray”, But luckily now I can.
American student Eric Jacqmain has created his all-natural, sunlight-powered ray of death using 5 800 mirrors attached to a parabolic reflector. Jacqmain says he has managed to melt not only steel, but carbon too, at a melting point of 3500ºC.
The irony is, however, that the ray of death has been destroyed in a shed-fire, but Jacqmain says he plans to build another, this time made comprising 36 000 mirrors. Surely at some point this starts to become illegal?
