Street artist, Banksy, who has been nominated in the best documentary category for Exit Through The Gift Shop, has been told by the Academy award chiefs that he can’t attend the Oscars in disguise. Once again proving that the Academy are really just like a retiree committee, only richer.
Banksy had put in the request in an attempt to keep his much lauded identity a secret, but the Academy executives dismissed it amid fears that allowing him to attend in disguise would invite copycat gatecrashers.
I still reckon he’ll find a way of going, but if he wins things are sure to get mighty interesting.
