Here’s a warning to everyone that is thinking about getting a breast lift. Don’t smoke. A new column by Dr Anthony Youn tells us that truly horrible things happen to your breasts if you smoke before or after breast augmentation.
The Dr states:
I cringe every time I see a patient for a breast lift who is a smoker. I’m deathly afraid that despite my warnings, she will smoke before or after surgery and cause her nipples to turn black and fall off.
Yes. Smokers who undergo breast lifts are at great risk of losing their nipples.
I’ve seen it before.
That’s pretty damn scary. It’s apparently the toxins and nicotine in cigarettes that cut off your bloodflow and cause horrible things to happen. I don’t know about you, but “your nipples are going to turn black and fall off” is a pretty good incentive for me to stop smoking.
