Hey there, people who like free online storage. As expected, Google’s potential Dropbox-killer, Google Drive, has gone live – offering users 5GB of free online storage, with the potential to upgrade to 25GB for $2,50 per month. The service is available on PCs, Macs, Android phones – and is coming soon to iOS.

Free storage for all the good boys and girls.

I mean let’s be clear, Google is pretty late coming out of the gates with this one – cloud storage startups like Dropbox and Box are already dominating most of the market, and Microsoft, Apple and Amazon all have their own little version of cloud storage going on with SkyDrive, iCloud and Cloud Drive respectively.

Notice a theme with the names, incidentally?

Google Docs, up until now Google’s chief cloud-storage service, will move to the Google Drive servers once users download the Google Drive app.

Let’s see if this works any better than Google+.
