This weekend we brought you news of Sportswriter Mark Keohane’s alleged sexual harassment and drug abuse scandal. While many claims have yet to be verified, the web is abuzz with conflicting views – some even suggesting that it may finally be Karma catching up with him.

For a long time now, Keohane has held various influential positions which almost always saw his opinion receiving widespread public distribution. His weighty words often pulled public figures into the harsh scrutiny of the spotlight. Figures on the receiving end of this attention seldom escaped unscathed. There are also various, as yet unverified, claims that he frequently harassed women in his employ without any serious repercussions. It seems however, that the worm has turned and many in the Twittersphere are only too happy to revel in his downfall.

And of course, there are some men who just love to watch the world burn.

These are just the results of a quick search on Twitter of his name, and surely there are plenty more who feel as strongly but simply have not expressed it. Conversely however, there are some who show support for the man.

Innocent or not, what’s clear is that Keohane obviously made some enemies along the way who are now thoroughly enjoying this very public scandal. Any which way the case turns out, the fact remains that his name has been dragged through the mud and the entire debacle has left a blemish on his career which will not soon wash out.
