Land of the free, home of the complete nut-cases. A 28-year-old New York City police officer was arrested this week by the FBI and charged with “conspiracy to kidnap, cook, and eat” nearly one hundred women including his girlfriend.
One would expect Gilberto Valle III to be your run-of-the-mill future serial killer, but his plans were not just about murder, he was trying to start a business. If Valle himself was not going to eat the women, his plan was to sell illegally obtained information on possible victims for $5 000, or to deliver victims to other like-minded people for a similar price.
Neighbours have said Valle was quiet, but investigators say he wanted to become a kidnapper, rapist, and cannibal.
While the FBI has not commented on the arrest yet, their complaint against Valle is available. According to Gawker, “the portrait that emerges from the records is of a young entrepreneur fully aware of the consequences of his actions, desperate to get his abduction/cannibalisation business off the ground, who is fucking crazy.”
The report contains “excerpts from instant message conversations allegedly held between Valle and two unnamed co-conspirators, information from dossiers about the women stored on Valle’s computer (including bra sizes), and even a blueprint for abducting and cooking a victim, which was saved as a file titled “Abducting and Cooking [The Victim]: A Blueprint.”
