On Monday, the Malian military gained control of the central Mali town of Diabaly.
This is seen as a key advance in their battle against Islamist militants in the north, who are threatening to turn Mali into a haven for international terrorists
But if the below training video below is anything to go by, we’d say this battle was most likely won because the Malian military had the assistance of French troops in the country (Mali was once under French control).
Because there is apparently a “shortage of spare ammunition” in the country, Malian soldiers can’t actually fire any bullets during training sessions. Instead, they have to make gun shot sounds themselves while pretending to fire their weapons.
