Pope Francis is arguably the coolest pope ever. He’s washed the feet of Muslim prisoners, he’s cool with gays, he drives a reasonable car and now he’s taking selfies with teenagers.
Days after the word “selfie” officially got added to the Oxford English Dictionary (yup, its a real word now), a photo of the pope doing exactly that has exploded on social media sites – AKA, gone viral. The big-guy was snapped posing with a group of teenagers from the Diocese of Piacenza and Bobbio, 50 miles south of Milan, from a smartphone held at arm’s length and, luckily, no duck-face.
Pope Francis is clearly moving the Papacy in the direction of the modern and informal age we live in, ditching the lavish lifestyles of his predecessors for a more humble, simpler existence.
