Precisely how Forbes measures the extent of a man’s “power” isn’t completely clear – but they’re pretty reputable so we’ll take their word for it. Until now, Obama has held the coveted title of the world’s most powerful man, but the new Forbes list reveals him to have fallen down the pecking order somewhat. We have a new leader everyone, and you would do well to remember his name.
What with the US government shutdown, and huge problems with the debt ceiling, Obama wasn’t gonna cling on to top spot for very long. The Forbes list covers 72 power brokers – one for every 100 million people on Earth. This list included 17 heads of state and 27 industry leaders.
So who beat Obama? Who’s the worlds top dog? It’s Edward Snowden’s best friend and the enemy of gay people everywhere – Vladimir Putin.
