‘Family Guy’ fans are up in arms after a recent episode saw one of their star characters, Brian, run over and killed-off the show by a car.

Brian, the family dog,  passed away after the family baby, Stewie, failed to revive him with a time machine. Following a massive outcry on Twitter, 95,000 people – and counting – have signed an online petition to resurrect him.

The associated Facebook page has over 750,000 likes.

The petition was started by avid fan Aaron Thompson, and is called “The RIP Brian from Family Guy petition”. In it, he warns:

Family Guy and Fox Broadcasting will lose viewers if Brian is not brought back.

The writers of Family Guy didn’t just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in our homes for the last 15 years. They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America’s dog!
