Apparently in the “scene” they call this “bonnet surfing.” All you need to know is that there’s a guy, a wooden board, a half-ton bakkie, a lot of dust, and multiple camera angles.
This, from the video description:
The crazy guys at TiT Engineering rigged up this Nissan 1400 for maximum fun on a (very) dusty patch near Pretoria. We hooked up some ropes (for steering, acceleration and killing the engine) from the cabin to an old bonnet just behind the car – meaning no-one was actually in the car. Just stick it in second, carefully release the clutch, jump on and hold on tight for a face full of dirt, hands full of blisters and veins full of adrenalin.
