Years of applications to stop extradition have done nothing more than buy time for Shrien Dewani, who is accused of paying someone to kill his wife, Anni. Today a judge set the date for the trial that will no doubt grip South Africa as has the Pistorius trial.
According to Reuters:
A South African judge on Friday set October 6 as the start date for the murder trial of British businessman Shrien Dewani, who is accused of planning the killing of his bride in a staged car-jacking while on honeymoon in Cape Town in 2010.
Dewani was extradited from Britain in April after losing a three-year battle to avoid facing trial in South Africa, where three men convicted of the murder have implicated him in the killing.
