Trying to kill a president is never a good idea, and The Walking Dead actress Shannon Guess Richardson has shown exactly why.
Richardson, 36, has now been sentenced to 18 years in prison after sending letters laced with ricin to US president Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, among others.
“What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president,” read the letter to Obama. “You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face.”
Richardson had small roles in The Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries, but is now getting her serious break on the front-page of just about every newspaper in the US.
Richardson will also be required to pay $367,000 in restitution as part of plea deal she entered into last December.
