Proving once again how unpredictable the Earth is, a massive hole has opened up in Siberia, presumably caused by a random explosion.

The 80 metre-wide hole, is specifically located on the Yamal Peninsula in Russia, commonly known as the “end of the world”, was said to have been formed from water, salt and gas mixing to cause an underground detonation.

“We can definitely say that it is not a meteorite,” a spokesman for the Yamal branch of the country’s Emergencies Ministry told The Siberian Times, adding that there are no further details yet.

There’s no information on how deep the hole actually is, but if it links up with China, it would make a pretty cool bungee-jump.
