The Christmas and New Year’s period can get very expensive. All those prezzies, boozy lunches and greasy hangover meals add up. The wiser amongst us stash a little extra aside during the year for when we really need it.
Or, like this policeman was caught doing, you can illegally solicit bribes from people that you suspect are driving under the influence of alcohol.
After being pulled over by law enforcement in Jozi, the video clearly shows an officer saying that R200 will make the problem ‘go away’ for the driver in question. Things take a turn for the worse when the driver refuses the bribe, causing things to get rather awkward pretty quickly.
The driver was taken to Honeydew Police Station where he was charged with driving under the influence, despite his claim that he had only had two beers in six hours. The police captain at the station refused to take action against the cop in question as no money had actually changed hands.
Please enjoy your daily dose of corruption in the full video above.
