There are few things more awkward than a sex-education class at school. Awkward waistband tucks and shifty glances abound. Also, far too many pictures of penises with unspeakable diseases. We all remember those.

It seems one 18-year-old at a school in Oklahoma was keen to further his education in this regard, and found a willing teacher in 32-year-old Daresa Poe. Poe should be well-versed in this area, considering she was the teacher giving the sex-ed classes at the school where the pupil studied.

It has now emerged that the two had been having carnal relations quite regularly, including in the teacher’s lounge. Poe penned a confession, taken from Gawker:

I am Daresa Poe a wife, mother and teacher. I have made a horrible mistake. I have let my judgement [sic] faulter [sic] and I am embarrassed and mortified for the deasions [sic] I have made in the last two weeks. I have had sexual intercourse with a student. I am so very sorry for the decision I have made.

She will now face charges of sexual battery and second degree rape, with Oklahoma’s age of consent between teacher and pupil standing at 21.

I remember often trying to sneak a peek into the mysterious and off-limits area that was the teacher’s lounge. Perhaps I should have tried a little harder.
