There are no shortage of different approaches to online dating. Some prefer to cast a wide net, swiping yes to everything on Tinder in the hope that they will find a willing taker. We’re not judging, it’s just playing the numbers game.
Others, like ‘The League’, prefer the idea of quality over quantity. Although the dating app is currently only available to users in the San Francisco area developers intend to expand to New York, LA and London.
So what makes this app so elite then? The excerpts below from Techcrunch:
What differentiates The League from the rest (and the thing that opens it up to charges of elitism, classism, and other isms that startups typically don’t want to be associated with) is its use of LinkedIn as its data backbone…
The concept of the curated community really resonates a lot…if you think about where you meet your significant other at college or through work.
The long and short of it? The app uses your Linkedin profile to link you to people with a similar education or work history.
Personally I believe variety is the spice of life, and the crazies on the various dating sites make for great entertainment. To each their own I guess, but for now I will stick with quantity.
