Yes, you read right, the ANC has actually admitted to failing to deliver on some of their grandiose promises. Don’t get too excited, it wasn’t an admission from JZ in front of millions but rather a more low-key affair. The Mail and Guardian reports:
The acknowledgement that it failed to walk the talk, particularly on infrastructure development, is contained in a frank report by the presidential infrastructure co-ordinating commission (PICC) tabled by Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel at the ANC’s lekgotla last week.
The report outlined some key areas where the government had fallen short of the goals set. No surprise that energy is on the list, considering most of us were plunged into darkness at some point yesterday.
The other areas addressed were the building of health centres and schools, supplying households with running water and job creation in the industrial section.
This brilliant infographic below doesn’t make for pretty reading, comrades. A word of advice for the future? Promise less. Deliver more.
