Day five of fighting the fires here in Cape Town and, whilst we follow the action from our offices, we cannot begin to repay the debt of gratitude we owe to the brave men and women tackling the blaze head on.

The latest news from the front line is that the fire is currently under control and authorities are closely monitoring the high-risk sites.

The good people of Cape Town have come together over the past few days and donated large amounts of foodstuffs, liquids and medical supplies to fire stations across the peninsula and now we have another chance to say a big ‘thank you’.

Head over to capetownthanksyou.co.za and leave your 250-character thank you note. Grab some tissues and pop over for a quick look, the outpouring of emotion is quite a sight.

We’re not one for big, elaborate love-ins but from the whole 2oceansvibe crew we just want to say ‘YOU GUYS ARE ALL FUCKING AWESOME’.

Just about sums it up, that.
