Ah, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge (Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge for short)… That’s a good name – I’m ecstatic about the Diana bit because she was freaking awesome and I’m rather partial to another of them.
Obviously the UK had to go and do some betting on the name of the baby, and the country seemed to guess correctly. Charlotte had been called the favourite for days, with someone even saying that an insider at the Palace could have leaked some information.
Bookmaker Coral saw “more than 60% of bets on Charlotte in the last 24 hours, producing the company’s largest payout for this type of contest” and rival bookmakers Ladbrokes reached a personal betting record on naming the princess — “the most individual bets on a royal baby” they called it.
The amount that shall be paid out to all the punters?
Bookmakers say they’ll pay out $1.5 million in the U.K. after thousands placed bet on the name Charlotte
Don’t worry though, the betting is apparently not over for watchers of the Royal Family. Bookmakers William Hill “predict Will and Kate will stop at two kids — but if they have a third, then it will be a princess named Alice”.
