Remember back in the day when your one friend insisted on saying ‘Crikey Maaaaate, she’s an absolute beauty’ every time he was out and saw an attractive member of the opposite sex?

It has been almost nine years since Steve came a little too close to a stingray and was fatally wounded by a barb to the chest. Since then his wife Terri and daughter Bindi have been carrying on The Crocodile Hunter’s good work, raising awareness about the plight of many of the world’s more endangered species.

Most of us probably remember Bindi as a bright-eyed young thing clambering along on her father’s back with an animal in tow, something like this below.

Well Bindi has come a long way since then and is due to celebrate her 17th birthday next month. Here’s what she has been up to courtesy of ViralThread:

Bindi Irwin is currently working on two Discovery Kids programs called Bindi’s Boocamp and Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors…

“I’m a great believer in conservation, kid-empowerment and all things to do with wildlife. So these programs are something that I’m really passionate and excited about. It’s very special – and what a unique position to be in, to be able to share your passion with such a wide audience. How nice is that?”

As you can see below she still loves getting up close and personal with nature’s beasts. These photos below from her Instagram account.

She isn’t shy of the odd ‘Throwback Thursday’ photo either.

Keep up the good work Bindi, I’m sure the old man would have been proud.
