    If you, like me, have a set of radically inspiring friends on Facebook or have kept up with the various hashtags used on Twitter, you might have noticed the beautifully rich source of voices, opinions and suggestions that have been flying around, shared to inspire, educate and empower.

    A lot of people are unsure of the rulings of a gathering, and although an interdict was issued yesterday banning the police from unnecessary violence towards protestors in Cape Town, it’s still important to understand South Africa’s rulings.

    People who care have been offering up advice on what to do in various situations, educating us all on our rights, certain procedures and what to do when confronted by the riot unit.

    The Right2Know Campaign put together a document detailing the laws. You can read it here.

    As demonstrators on the ground use any means necessary to get their voices heard, the police are attacking peaceful protests and have arrested a number of innocent people.

    The Equal Education Law Centre shared the following information last night on what to do when arrested as numerous demonstrators were arrested and no one knew where they were being taken. This is what to do if you find yourself in the back of a van.
