If you want to work for the big guns you have to jump through a couple of hoops, which in Google terms means asking a couple of really tricky questions.

Fair enough really, they’re kind of a big deal so it makes sense that they only hire the best and brightest. The questions are designed to test interviewees ‘quantitatively and broadly, and test the way you tackle problems on the spot’.

We’ve picked ten testers for your perusal – maybe those of you looking for some good employees might want to take note too.

What is your favourite Google product, and how would you improve it?

If ads were removed from YouTube, how would you monetize it?

Design an evacuation plan for the building.

What does “being Googley” mean to you?

What would you want to do if you didn’t have to work?

Estimate the number of tennis balls that can fit into a plane.

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?

How many haircuts do you think happen in America every year?

How could you solve humankind’s biggest crisis given one billion dollars and a spacecraft?

Would you remove the link to an extremist piece of writing?

Haircuts, tennis balls, saving the human race – good luck navigating those, here’s hoping you’ve got yourself a quick wit and the ability to think outside the box.
