BBC Journalists Forced To Bribe Jo’Burg Cop

If these BBC journalists wanted an authentic South Africa experience it appears they got one, a JMPD cop forcing them into paying a bribe.

You’re probably aware that the English cricket team have been in town for a while, most noticeable by the hordes of ‘Barmy Army’ supporters they bring along who make a mockery of the exchange rate.

With the cricket come the commentators, Sky Sports and other UK networks bringing the likes of Jonathan Agnew, Michael Vaughan, Henry Blofeld and Simon Mann along for the ride. Over to eNCA for more on the incident:

They were reportedly pulled over by a JMPD officer, who allegedly threatened them because the driver didn’t have his licence with him.

On January 22, the BBC journalists tweeted about the incident, saying the officer took most of the cash they were carrying and emphasised they did not bribe him.
