There’s a certain satisfaction to knowing that once you hang up your racquet you will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time. It must also be lekker to know that you are universally respected as a human around the world, Federer’s on and off court behaviour over the years making him one of sport’s much loved figures.
He is getting on years though, now 34 years old and probably tired of answering questions regarding how much longer he can compete at the top.
