Mark Zuckerberg tends to play it down the line these days, probably because he gets attacked for things as simple as going for a jog, but back in the day before Facebook ruled everyone’s life he was just a beer-drinking college bro.

It doesn’t come more college than barefoot with a red sippy cup of beer, and we should also give a shout out to the guy conducting the interview for playing his part in that gem above.

Vanity Fair with why this video is such a throwback:

The video, just more than a decade old, feels like a time capsule from a bygone era—one in which Facebook was not a company with more than 1.5 billion monthly active users and a futuristic “campus” designed byFrank Gehry.

At the time, Zuckerberg simply wanted to connect kids who could already meet outside of their classrooms, rather than connect every single person in the world as the world’s largest social network does now (while also giving them the chance to shop for flowers through a bot, take selfies in virtual reality, and broadcast videos live).

Facebook wasn’t a company worth more than $300 billion and Zuckerberg not yet a millennial with a nearly $48 billion fortune.

But without all the likes and comments how did people validate their sense of self-worth?
