You keep reading it, I have keep writing it.
Kanye West performed in Madison Square, New York on Tuesday and Kim K showed up in all her curvaceous glory – but she had to because apparently Kanye’s show “Saint Pablo” was unlike anything the venue has ever seen before.
The show was packed with celebs, from Ariana Grande to Yoko Ono and her son, and the usual Kardashian Klan, but it was Kim’s dress that got the most attention from the paparazzi.
Turning up in a sheer, shimmery metallic dress (not unlike Kate Moss’s iconic look), the reality star didn’t wear a bra, but she did wear some awful thigh-high silver Balenciaga boots.
To some, she looked incredible – but I just think everyone’s a bit distracted by her nipples:
Hopefully she will soon realise just how unflattering those damn boots are.
This is defs Kim’s new look though, sporting the sheer-top look three times in the past week – HERE and HERE.
It’s so inspiring I might just come to work like that tomorrow, just without the boots. Kidding, I’ll totally find some thigh-high boots today.
But on a really serious note, I want to give you some info on Kanye’s performance. This, from Billboard:
That Floating Stage Is Unbelievably Cool
While it actually creates more distance between audience and performer — it was difficult to see him from the floor, except when he went to the edges of the stage — it somehow makes the audience more participatory, more part of the show. (Needless to say, there was a roiling mosh pit directly underneath the stage for basically the entire show, including, hilariously, the choir interludes on “Ultralight Beam.”)
Kanye wore a harness that was anchored to the center of the stage, and at times he used it to lean toward the crowd like a dog straining at its tether; the audience’s vantage point changed several times during the show as the stage moved; for once, the higher up you were, the better you could see.
It’s surprising that the stage floor wasn’t made of some kind of clear acrylic, not that anyone would really want that view of anyone (maybe next time). You get the feeling this was just the beginning of a new way to stage a concert — Noisey even called it, with a hyperbolic paraphrase of its subject’s most infamous quote, “The greatest tour of all time.”
And, according to a source, Kanye also outsold the Pope when it came to merchandise at the show. Apparently the line was 50-people deep all night long.
I know the feels. I stood in the line for an hour to get my hands on his Pablo bomber.
Worth it.
