I constantly marvel at Google’s ability to answer almost any question I throw its way, although every now and again a search does turn up some rather odd findings.

I like to think most of mine are valid, and anything illicit is strictly for work research purposes, but let’s take a look at what South Africans are searching these days.

Side note before we dive in: Google processes more than a billion searches per day – intense.

Courtesy of MyBroadband, here are the top trending questions on Google SA this past week:

    1. What time is it in South Africa?
    2. How long does it take to get pregnant?
    3. How to get rid of dark circles around eyes?
    4. How to make flapjacks
    5. What is the informal sector?
    6. How to make white sauce
    7. Is Michael Jackson still alive?
    8. How to get over someone you love
    9. Who founded Google?
    10. What is baking soda?

Um, what’s up with Michael Jackson? Also, I wasn’t aware the desire to feast on flapjacks was so strong around these here parts.

We’ll leave you with this, some light-hearted relief from the comments section:
